It never fails to amaze me how the most obvious things can completely miss someone until many years later. Someone in their 30’s should not be learning this for the first time, but here I am…
My Achilles’ heel has always been soda. I can’t drink only water, unless it is right after a work out, and milk is too heavy at times to drink often. The only alternative seems to be sugary drinks / carbonated drinks. I’ve never been too into fruit, and when I tried to have fruit juice it was most always too sweet or tart. Time and time again, it was easy to justify getting my daily water from soda despite the health warnings with drinking too much soda. In short, it was easy and cheap to just reach for the soda…. or so it seemed.
On a whim, I started to water down some fruit juice in the hopes that it will still be drinkable. What I found was that it was a million times better when you water down fruit juice. I played with the ratios and I like the 1/3 juice to 2/3 water mix. The best part is that I now have a healthy alternative to soda that I can drink throughout the day.
Where was I when this was covered in school? I feel stooopid!
